Alessandro Jaker is a phonologist and fieldworker. He has a PhD in linguistics from Stanford University (2012) and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Alaska Native Language Center, University of Alaska, Fairbanks (supported by the NSF Polar Postdoc Program). His research focuses on the Wıı̀lıı̀deh (Dogrib) and Tetsǫ́t'ıné (Yellowknife / Chipewyan) languages, spoken by the Yellowknives Dene in and around Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and most of his fieldwork is done through the Goyatıkǫ̀ Language Centre.
